WASHINGTON, November 14. /TASS/. The US Department of Defense said it would not comment on Norway’s allegations that Russia jammed GPS signal during NATO’s Trident Juncture, department spokesman Eric Pahon told TASS.

«That was a statement by the Norwegian MoD, so I refer you to them. We don’t have anything to add here,» he said.

Earlier, Norway’s Defense Ministry claimed that «between October 16 and November 7, jamming of the GPS signal was observed» and «Russian forces on the Kola Peninsula are behind that.»READ ALSO

Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told reporters that the Kremlin does not have any information about GPS failures during NATO’s military drills. «There is a trend to blame all mortal sins on Russia. As a rule, these allegations are unfounded,» he said. «We know nothing about Russia’s possible involvement in those GPS failures.»

Between October 25 and November 7Norway hosted the active phase of NATO’s Trident Juncture military exercises, involving about 50,000 servicemen from 31 states (29 NATO members, Finland and Sweden). The Russian Foreign Ministry said that such a massive demonstration of combat capabilities «are clearly oriented against Russia and have a negative effect on the security of all countries in the region without exception.».
