Lars Berger told TASS he was not interested at the moment joining the coaching staff with the Russian national biathlon team.

MOSCOW, March 25. /TASS/. Norway’s former biathlete and cross country skier Lars Berger told TASS he was not interested at the moment joining the coaching staff with the Russian national biathlon team.

President of the Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) Vladimir Drachev, who is also the four-time world champion, stated on Sunday that Norway’s famous biathlon and cross country skier Berger may possibly join the coaching staff of the Russian national team of biathlon.

«I had a nice breakfast talk with both Drachev and [Sergei] Chepikov [the Russian Olympic and World medalist in biathlon and cross country skiing] in Minsk,» Berger told TASS. «However, it is not actual for me to do coaching in Russia at the moment.»

«Thank you for your offer, I feel flattered,» the 39-year-old Norwegian Olympic medalist and numerous world champion in biathlete and cross country skiing added.

Lars Berger is the silver medalist of the 2010 Winter Olympics in cross country skiing 4x10km men’s relay event, as well as three-time World Champion in cross country skiing.

Performing for the Norwegian national biathlon team, Berger has one gold and three silver medals of the IBU World Championships.
